Semilla funds and supports useful organizations in Costa Rica. It does more than fund: it secures the path together with the people who lead them, strengthens their autonomy, and connects them to the whole network. Applications are open.
What Semilla looks for
- An organization that serves an essential function: health, mobility, housing, energy, knowledge.
- A territory and a clear stage: an idea that is starting, an organization being built, or one already selling.
- An aligned purpose, shared governance, a long horizon.
- Transparency: accounts kept in the shared management tool, open to Semilla.
What Semilla brings
- Funding: direct investment from members, then the bond fund once the organization has revenue. Without depending on bank credit.
- Support from Momentum, in nine areas: legal, management, brand, technology, crypto and payments, the El Núcleo hub, events, settling in Costa Rica, turnkey company.
- The network: members who know the organization, and other organizations to work with.
The path

- First conversation Within two weeks: we meet and understand each other.
- Review Four to eight weeks: the file is reviewed with you.
- Decision Written, with its reasons.
- Structuring With Momentum: articles, accounts, contract.
- Opening The organization opens to members.
An application that is not selected says nothing about the quality of the organization: only that it does not fit, today, what Semilla can carry.
